Nicola Sturgeon visits New Lanark
The internationally important cradle of humane conditions for the working man – and woman – was deliberately selected by Nicola Sturgeon to launch the SNP’s General Election campaign plank, – to end the long austerity measures taken by the Coalition Government after the 2008 financial crash.
Surrounded by the ancient mills – and a large press corps – in the World Heritage village, she claimed these policies were having a “devastating impact on communities across the country”.
