Celtic transfer necessities ranked: 4 priority areas emerge for Brendan Rodgers this summer

Brendan Rodgers will look to be active in the transfer market at Celtic.

Brendan Rodgers has a side that have been crowned champions but don’t think that means no transfer business this summer.

The Hoops boss watched recruitment come under fire in his first season back at the Parkhead helm, but they still did enough to clicnh a Premiership and Scottish Cup double. Two targets have already emerged, in Adam Idah and Paulo Bernardo, who spent part or all of last season on loan at Celtic.

Where else in his squad needs targeted? A goalkeeper will no doubt be sought with Joe Hart retiring, and he might not be the only man exiting Rodgers’ stable between the sticks.

There are other areas of the park that look light, while some stand up as areas of strength. So looking at each position in the team and the possible outgoings list, we rank the priorities for Rodgers from zero being nothing required, to 10 being urgent, with four areas above eight ranking as necessities.
