The fixtures and dates for the 2024/25 Scottish Premiership season have been locked in.

After a rollercoaster season in Scotland’s top flight, the fixtures for the 2024/25 Scottish Premiership season have been released. Celtic and Rangers are preparing to go toe-to-toe in another title race and both are getting stuck into the summer transfer window to bolster their squad options.

Clubs across the country have now received their full fixture list ahead of the new season. Celtic will be looking to retain their title for a fourth consecutive year, while Rangers will hope to topple their rivals and take the spot at the top.

The two Glasgow rivals played out a thrilling 3-3 draw in their penultimate Old Firm derby of the Premiership season, before Brendan Rodgers’ side edged out a 2-1 win in May. Let’s take a look at when Celtic and Rangers will face each other this coming season.

Celtic vs Rangers 2024/25 Old Firm dates and times

Fans won’t have to wait long before the first Old Firm action of the season gets underway. Celtic will host Rangers on Matchday Four at Parkhead before heading to Ibrox in January. Here is the full list of Old Firm fixtures and dates in full.

August 31st — Celtic vs Rangers (3pm KO)

January 2nd — Rangers vs Celtic (3pm KO)

March 15th — Celtic vs Rangers (3pm KO)

The post-split dates have also been announced, with specific fixtures to be confirmed in due course.

April 26th — Matchday 34

May 3rd — Matchday 35

May 10th — Matchday 36

May 14th — Matchday 37

May 17th/18th — Matchday 38

How to watch Celtic vs Rangers 2024/25 matches

The Scottish Professional Football League recently announced a new broadcast deal with Premier Sports, which will see 20 fixtures broadcast live each season. A five-year deal has been agreed, with coverage due to start this summer.

The Premier Sports announcement follows on from the SPFL’s extension with Sky Sports back in 2022. Up to 60 Scottish Premiership games will be shown live throughout the 2024/25 season.

The clash at Ibrox scheduled for January 2nd will be shown live on Sky Sports Football and Sky Sports Main Event. The first Old Firm derby of the season will be shown on CelticTV, which can be accessed via a monthly or yearly subscription.

Celtic and Rangers transfer news

Both Glasgow sides are looking to recruit ahead of another competitive season in Scotland’s top flight.

The Hoops are yet to make a summer signing but they do have their eye on a number of potential targets, particularly goalkeepers as they pursue a replacement for Joe Hart. Sead Hakšabanović departed the club and signed for Swedish outlet Malmo this week.

Rangers have released five players since the end of the 2023/24 season, including Borna Barišić and John Lundstram, who have both signed for Trabzonspor. The Light Blues have wasted no time in getting stuck into signings of their own, either. Clinton Nsiala and Connor Barron have both joined the club on free transfers, while the Gers have also splashed the cash on Jefté and Hamza Igamane in recent days.
