Rangers face playing their opening Ibrox matches away from their home stadia.

Neil Doncaster has vowed that the SPFL will help Rangers however they can amid their Ibrox situation.

The CEO has been talking after the SPFL fixtures for next season were released on Thursday. Philippe Clement's side will start the campaign how they ended the previous season, away to Hearts, before back-to-back 'home' games with Motherwell and Ross County on August 10th and 24th.

However, uncertainty surrounds Ibrox Stadium. Rangers must temporarily relocate for two league games with their usual home out of action for August due courtesy of delays via renovation works. Talks are now set to commence with the SPFL and SFA with fixtures announced.

Appearing on Sky Sports, Doncaster was questioned over what 'contingencies' currently sit in place, and if the Rangers 'face any sanctions.' He didn’t respond to the latter query but did confirm the SPFL are keen to help the Ibrox side out, piling praise on chairman John Bennett.

He said: "Unfortunately these things happen. I used to run a club and we had to build a stand, and worked very close with the league to make sure our fixtures went ahead with only three parts of the ground available.

"Now that the fixtures are out, we'll be liaising with Rangers. Obviously they've got a far better handle on the works than we do. We'll be doing our best to work with them to try and get them through what is clearly a difficult situation.

“We've been very impressed with the way the new chairman, John Bennett, has tried to strengthen relationships across the game, and we'll certainly be looking to work with him and his team, and be as flexible as we can be, whilst being fair to everyone else."
