Celtic target drops hint on future

Celtic-linked Mathias Kvistgaarden has said he is ready to leave Brondby this summer in favour of a new challenge elsewhere. The Hoops are believed to be interested in the attacker along with clubs across Europe including RB Salzburg.

He has told Danish news outlet Campo: "There is no doubt about that. I think I have shown myself in a lot of ways, which means that I have shown that I can hopefully also play internationally at some point.

"I am a soccer player. I meet here around 8:30. So I'm hired to play soccer. And then there are a lot of others who are employed to do what they are employed to do."

Rodgers could see the 22-year-old as a useful long-term option for his side. He could do with freshening up his attacking ranks ahead of the next campaign.

The Denmark youth international played for Skjold Birkerød and Lyngby before joining Brondby in 2015.

He has since risen up through the ranks of his current team and broke into their senior set-up in 2020.

Kvistgaarden has since made 83 appearances in all competitions and has fired 23 goals, nine of which came last term.

His contract expires in 2027 meaning Brondby are under no pressure to cash in on him just yet and can wait for the right offer to come in. Celtic may have to fork out a decent sized transfer fee if they are to win the race for his signature.

Rangers attacker wanted

Giovanni van Bronckhorst is ready to make a move for Rangers winger Tom Lawrence as he looks to reunite with the Wales international at Besiktas, according to a report by Kartal Haber.

Lawrence, who is 30-years-old, is facing an uncertain future at Ibrox and may well head out the exit door in this transfer window.

If he was to leave the Gers, that would free up space and funds in their ranks to bring in some other players who suit Philippe Clement more.

Rangers signed the Wrexham-born man back in 2022 but he hasn’t quite managed to make the impact that he would have wanted to in Scotland.

Lawrence rose up through the academy ranks at Manchester United and played once for the Red Devils as a youngster. He was loaned out to Carlisle United and Yeovil Town as a youngster to get experience.

Permanent spells at Leicester City and Derby County then followed on for him before he moved up the border two years ago.

He has played 40 games for Rangers and has found the net on six occasions with a possible switch to Istanbul on the horizon now.
